My Crushes Through The Years

This doesn't mean I went completely off them but just my height of when I most liked them

Circa 1990

Michelle Pfeiffer - I was in love with Michelle Pfeiffer before puberty, before I knew what sex was, Michelle Pfeiffer was my first ever crush, I watched Married To The Mob because it starred her, I watched Grease 2 for the same reasons, have you noticed the year I stated predates Batman Returns and that suit by a couple of years so all I am saying is my love for her was much more pure.

Circa 1991 - 1992

Tiffani Amber Thiessen - it's no surprise this crush matches up with Saved By The Bell's peak, and even young me knew the show was a bit rubbish, enjoyable to me totally and Thiessen was a big reason for this.

Circa 1995

Tia Carrere
Cameron Diaz

Circa 1995 - 1997

Courteney Cox

Circa 1997 - 2000

Melissa Joan Hart

Circa 1998 -1999

Drew Barrymore

Circa 1999 - 2002

Alyson Hannigan - it's no coincidence that this matches with Buffy still being on the air

Circa 2001 - 2002

Kirsten Dunst

Circa 2002

Thora Birch

Circa 2003 - 2005

Jennifer Garner

Circa 2004 - 2011

Parminder Nagra - I think they can leave your list (like she was on for a long time) because he you don't watch them in as much stuff anymore, granted she's done stuff since the ending of ER but I just didn't see it as much.

Circa 2004 - 2005

Lindsay Lohan - seriously, she was cute... then she became a tabloid carwreck

Circa 2012

Anne Hathaway

My Biggest Crushes

This is not an exclusive list, and it's mostly actresses.

Kristen Bell
Natalie Portman
Alison Brie
Rashida Jones
Ellie Kemper
Ellen Page
Kat Dennings
Karen Gillan
Rachel Riley
Aubrey Plaza
Amanda Seyfried
Emma Stone
and Jennifer Lawrence (she is probably the most recent addition into my affections).

Things I Collect - Original Movie Posters

I collect original movie posters with the emphasis more on foreign releases of English language films, here is some of my collection. I should point out none of the photos are mine since my camera isn't working, love the cool different images on some of these.

The Cannonball Run - Thai Poster (my latest arrival)
Cannonball Run 2 - French Poster (I am awaiting a Cannonball Fever Italian poster as I write this).
The Dirty Dozen - Yugoslavian Poster (this was taken by me back in 2009 - this got signed in person by Ernest Borgnine and George Kennedy)
A Fish Called Wanda - Japanese Poster
Gremlins - British Quad Poster (Teaser); I don't really buy many UK or US posters but I really love this one.
Léon: The Professional - Thai Poster
MASH - Yugoslavian Poster (problem with the photo I found)
Matinee - Japanese Poster
Top Secret - Belgian Poster (signed by Ian McNeice)

I will update in another future post some others I couldn't find pictures of...

Back

I never planned to be away from the blog so long, but nobody reads this so it doesn't really matter, I do plan on going back to the usual stuff - the album thing, the pilot thing, even talking about films I have seen, I have seen an whole bunch of movies since and over Christmas - some of my favourites have been Captain America - The Winter Soldier (possibly the best of the Avengers MCU, or at least since the first Iron Man), the fantastic LEGO Movie (seriously I loved this), I laughed and also had tears whilst watching St. Vincent, Bill Murray was excellent in that movie, I finally saw The Hunger Games - Catching Fire, I really enjoyed it despite like the first one just being reminded of other sources, I did even end up watching Silver Lining's Playbook afterwards, I was on a Jennifer Lawrence kick you see. Joberwosky's Dune was a fascinating documentary on a movie that never was.

Other stuff I did enjoy was Muppets Most Wanted, was a lot of fun, as well as Timer, which starred Buffy's Emma Caulfield and Premature, a teen movie which was Groundhog Day with premature ejaculation, where both likable, also enjoyable was Timecrimes, a French time travel movie, now I'm a sucker for TT movie and liked what they did here. I also watched See No Evil 2, which was good for what it was and American Mary from the same directors was also very good.

Dumb and Dumber To had plenty of funny moments which for me is what is important in a comedy movie, Walk Of Shame wasn't bad with Elizabeth Banks but nothing too memorable, while The Other Woman, with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann is never funny once. I also watched The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller, not bad either. I also watched the Nickelodeon TV movie Swindle featuring a cast of Nick stars including Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy, enjoyable but couldn't help thinking it was kind of the kid's own fault he got swindled in the first place. Mercenaries, which is sort of a female Expendables from the infamous Asylum studios actually ended up being enjoyable, the cast features Vivica A. Fox, Kristanna Loken, Zoe Bell, Brigitte Nielsen and Cynthia Rothrock.

An older film I watched for the first time, and ended up being the last one I watched of 2014 was Won Ton Ton - The Dog Who Saved Hollywood from 1976, and features over 75 classic Hollywood stars sometimes in absolute tiny roles, I enjoyed it but as you can see my tastes often vary.

Films I caught up with after years included the awesome original RoboCop, the also awesome The Running Man, the awesome teen movie Election and the underrated May, both good to see again.

The biggest dud for me recently was comedy sketch movie Inapporate Comedy which was somehow worse then Movie 43, which kept hammering unfunny bits to well they are much more unfunnier, the cast includes Lindsay Lohan, Adrien Brody, Rob Schneider and Michelle Rodriguez (who to be fair is likable here).

How

Another day, another dollar (or pound). Have I actually what my online business is? If I have sorry for repeating it, if not here goes...

DVDs and entertainment memorabilia (like toys/autographs) via mostly eBay. I am not going to pretend for a second I am rolling in money because of this but it keeps me from having to sign on... while I understand there is probably similar in other countries in the world, here in the UK, "signing on" tends to be looked down upon which is a shame, many, many people have to do this for a lot of different reasons and I was was of them until mid-last year, you see I was lucky I had built up a huge stockpile of DVDs and just like this (from times of work and that), I decided maybe start selling off this collection I had grown, so that was my initial reasoning for starting up the business...

Cut to like 17 months later (maths was never my strong suit) and am doing it, it's not even me selling my own DVD collection anymore but I actually buy in now - job lots and the like - which is fun.

I thought this would be relevant post to show you a part of who I am - you know creating a picture -

Filmz

It's been rare the last few weeks (X-Men Days Of Future Past a couple of weeks ago aside), that I watch a film, now I love films but I just haven't sat down to watch anything and have gone with a TV show instead, so it was a bit out of blue for me the other day to lay in bed and watch two films back to back (courtesey of Netflix).

Firstly, I watched The Big Year, which starred Jack Black, Owen Wilson and Steve Martin, I have to give it credit for not once making birdwatching (or birding) a joke, I found it a likable comedy but not gut-bustlingly funny, there was a decent supporting cast too including the lovely Rashida Jones.

I followed it up with The Way Way Back, which is a film I actually knew very little about before watching it to be honest, I know it had a bunch of actors I liked in it and was co-written and co-directed by Jim Rash (whose in Community). This was the better overall film of the pair and was cool to see Steve Carell play somebody who is a douche, he's the main character's mother new boyfriend, the mother is played by Toni Collette who played Carell's sister in Little Miss Sunshine. Sam Rockwell shines in this movie. The movie also excelled at not once making a friendship in this film between a teenager lad and a grown man not.

I am going to try and get into watching films again more regularly.
